I need a few APs to extend Wi-Fi coverage in my apartment.
I'd like to have Wi-Fi 6 devices.
I've selected two devices as alternatives: cAP ax and hAP ax².
My question is, what is the advantage of cAP ax, aside from having fewer ports? All I see is more antenna gain. Is this the reason why cAP is 30% more expensive?

If you want to cover a room or hallway use hAP ax2 Or a cap, if you want to cover more than 1 room hAP ax3 would suit better. can you make a layout for us to see what you ned to cover, it might be helpful.

Without seeing some kind on floor plan and floor/wall type materials, it's hard to give an opinion. I have 2 floors with just a normal plasterboard ceiling and a hAP ax2 covers my living room and kitchen. But my living room fireplace chimney is in the way of getting good signal from my cAP ax upstairs, but I still get around 300mbps each way from my cAP ax hidden behind that said Chimney. So as I said more info required.

Well, regardless of my setup, I'm just curious what is the key difference between this two pice of hardware? What is the key advantage(s) of cAP ax if it is 30% more expensive. Actually it is the question.

Well the specs are a lot better for a start than a hAP ax2, you could even use it as a router if you had a switch. said cap even has two gigabit ports where other brands don't. I use my cAP for testing where I used to use another server. It just frees up stuff I don't need any more. hAP ax2 has 4.5db gain on 5G where the cap has 5.5 db gain, but the cap also outputs less power. the upside is the cap will recieve better because bigger ears are better no?

Also here is something else to consider, If you have devices that over lap due to poor planning your are going to be on here having a moan.
Just help us to help you make a good choice. Also IMO cAP ax in cap mode is far superior than trying to config said AP.

If you need extra ether ports, AX2 might be a better option.
Purely for AP function cap AX is never a wrong choice since it was designed for it (if you can stand those big discs hanging from the ceiling ).

But I agree with ToTheFull a small drawing and more info on the network context would be helpful.

For my opinion of why it costs more:

More overall materials needed (product, box, shipping costs, etc)
More complicated antenna design means a more complicated build (albiet slight increase)
Not made in scale as compared to the ax2 thus costs more (just a guess)
